È stato soppresso a seguito della riforma amministrativa, detta mwhwProgramma Callicrate, in vigore dal gennaio mwia2011cite-ref-2[2] ed è ora compreso nel comune di mwjqIstiaia-Aidipsos.

Anticamente era chiamata Istiea (dal mwjwgreco antico Ἑστιαία o Ἳστιαία).cite-ref-3[3]
